Interested in Volunteering?
Pug Pals needs YOU! Volunteers are the backbone of our group, and we cannot survive without you. Volunteer opportunities include the following:
- Foster care–Emergency, short-term or regular basis. (Please fill out the foster application)
- Transport–Pick up relinquished pugs and deliver them to and from Broadway Vet, foster home or Forever Home. Sometimes transport involves picking up pugs from outside of the Boise area.
- Home visits–Visit with prospective foster and adoptive families for suitability of their home for rescue pugs, and to provide any training on pug care. Send home visit report to Pug Pals board for their review and approval.
- Events and fundraising–Help at our events including garage sales, Pet Expo, adoption events and so on. We need individuals both to coordinate certain events and to assist at the event.
- Sewing–We have an ongoing need for pug belly bands (to keep male pugs from marking in foster homes). We can provide the pattern and measurements if you can help by providing the fabric and tailor talent.
- Writing–We need help with anything from writing pug articles for our website, to writing grants for ongoing funding.
- Videotaping–shoot videos of rescues doing cute things (usually at Pug Meetup but could be anywhere) and post on the Pug Pals YouTube channel.
- Photography–Great pictures of our rescues helps get them placed in great Forever Homes.
- Crafts and baking–We earn money each year through holiday bazaar and craft fairs. This includes making dog- or pet-related items, and even making items like jewelry, food with shelf life, artistic pieces and so on.
- Soliciting donations for raffles–the sky is the limit on this! If you’d like to help Pug Pals place rescue pugs with their Forever Families, please fill out the volunteer application and we’ll be in touch with you. Thank you!
